Greenpeace distributes (salted) nuclear ENEL bills of 2020

ROME. Greenpeace activists have distributed before the post offices of 24 Italian cities "bill nuclear. "They are the ones that Enel will present
in 2020, if you could bring back nuclear power in Italy - said the environmental organization - Enel and the government should stop teasing
the country arguing that nuclear power will serve to lower the bills of Italians.
Bills distributed by Greenpeace show that nuclear power will actually skyrocketing electricity bills for the Italians.
Along with the bills Greenpeace has also published a "guide" that meets the most frequent assurances of "filonucleari":
It 'true that nuclear power will lower the cost of bills?
No, if we take into account the very high costs for the construction of new power plants, maintenance, disposal of wastes and contaminated
equipment, that the final cost of electricity will double the cost of bill of Italians. The government is lying to the country to facilitate
the nuclear plans of Enel will in fact pay people to return to nuclear power through price increases in bills.
Then the nuclear worthwhile?
If someone else gives you the power plant and takes care of the slag free, then the nuclear agrees. La maggior parte del costo dell'elettricità
nucleare dipende infatti dal costo iniziale di costruzione dell'impianto e dai costi di gestione delle scorie per migliaia di anni. These costs,
as well as the decommissioning and remediation of contaminated sites, they are not backed by companies, but by the state, and therefore
by taxpayers who pay taxes.
How much a kilowatt-hour today?
Wholesale, namely the Power Exchange, a kilowatt hour today costs about 5 cents. In the bill, however, consumers pay him about 18 cents.
How much a kilowatt-hour today by nuclear power?
According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today ordered a new nuclear reactor which will come into operation in 2020 will
generate a 7 cents per kilowatt hour, more wind power, coal, and gas. This assuming that the cost of construction of a reactor is of
2.3 billion euros for 1000 MW, a hypothesis which, however, is not realistic, if we look at current market prices.
And then the actual cost of electricity from nuclear energy?
It's a good question. The latest estimates for a new EPR reactor (such as those that Enel wants to build in Italy) indicate up to 4.8 billion
euros for 1000 MW. If we take this data, then a kilowatt hour from nuclear power would cost about 14 cents, three times what the cost
paid today at the Power Exchange.
So why should nuclear power in France?
Because most of the French reactors were made by the State in the '60s and '70s, and after forty years the costs have been amortized. It is
like hydropower in Italy: the hydroelectric plants built in the last century now produce electricity cheaper, but no one would build a new
dam now, because it would have enormous costs compared to fossil fuels and renewables.
And the costs of decommissioning and radioactive waste management?
In the case of Britain, the cost of waste management have produced a hole in the public accounts of 90 billion euros. In Italy
the dismantling of old nuclear plants will cost about 4 billion in bills that we are already paying through the component "A2". Most
ikely this money will not suffice, and the State will take on additional costs. Nuclear power is a dangerous cost to society: companies are
making a profit immediately, while the public will support the risks and costs of nuclear waste in the long term.
There are affordable alternatives to nuclear power?
Yes, renewables such as wind, solar, geothermal, sustainable biomass, and energy efficiency measures are already available and can provide
all the energy we need in a convenient, clean, secure, and forever. Greenpeace study shows that in Europe, renewables will provide about
90% of electricity in 2050.

You must give what knight rider is : "The Legion of Honor of Merit."
Asinus asinum is Fricat a Latin expression which literally means a donkey a donkey scratches.
Difficult to indicate the exact source but there are known quotations in reading classical, certainly at least in Cicero (De Amicitia)
The term is normally used to indicate the attitude of complicity understanding, mutual help and mutual praise even between two people
not culturally or intellectually equipped in particular. Its use is widespread in chemistry, indicating that "like dissolves like", ie a molecule
that is a good solvent for another if it has similar properties to it.
Is close to its popular Italian sayings one hand washes the other (but with a humorous tinge) and dall'ugual plumage birds fly together,
although it would be more appropriate to say that "an ignorant incenses / praises another ignorant".
